New Doll Dresses on the Website

February 03, 2011 0 Comments Latest Updates by JoAnn Morgan

Just so everyone knows I am keeping busy, I wanted to mention the new things on the website. I have added long dresses for the hard plastic dolls of the 1950s-- in the style of the Alcott's Little Women-- similar to those made for the Madame Alexander dolls. I will be adding more as time goes on and they will fit Toni in the 14 and 16" sizes, and Nanette, Mary Hoyer, Sweet Sue, and the Madame Alexander Maggie and Margaret face dolls in both the 14" and 17-18" sizes, although I won't make as many in the larger size as there is not enough demand at this point.

Little Women Day Dress  I have also put on some long Valentine's Day dresses and  long slips to go under the long dresses if desired, and there are new 17-18" Sweet Sue type one piece slip and panty combinations, as well as in the 15-16" Toni size.

Ballet Dress Patterns Update

October 18, 2010 0 Comments Random Thoughts by JoAnn Morgan

The ballet dresses and patterns had to go on hold! I have so many requests for other items on the site and inventory of regular items is so low I had to quit working on the ballet stuff, for which there is limited demand, to work on regular items.

Meanwhile, there are three completed ballet classic styles for sale ( the Clea Bella one has already sold) and if you are really anxious to see more, please email and let me know which doll you are waiting to put a ballet dress on. I will hopefully get back to them after the first of the year.

Doll Ballet Dress Patterns Coming Along

September 12, 2010 1 Comments Random Thoughts by JoAnn Morgan

Ballet Dress Patterns for dolls! When I accepted this challenge from a favorite client, I had no idea it would be so much work. I want the to be completely authentic in appearance-- but designed to make them look better on dolls than just doing  a miniature version of an adult costume. There is way too much bulk that way to look good on a tiny doll-- What a 24" lady human waist can handle, doesn't translate literally very well to a 5" doll waist!

I am pleased to say the patterns for all selected sizes of classic tutus are done, but I have had to postpone the patterns until after the first of the year to get my inventory back up on other things. I do all the sewing myself so merchandise is limited to how much time I have to sew. I will keep you posted!
